The China Tour International Q-school is coming soon
Beijing, China - next week, the China Tour will stage its first International Qualifying Tournament at OCT Kunming Wind Valley Golf Club from May 9th to 12th, 2017. This is the 2nd year that China Tour Qualifying Tournament comes to the beautiful resort at Yangzong Hai Lake bay area of Kunming, Yunnan Province. ‘We are excited to host the season opening tournaments for players from all around the world and we are ready for that.’said Ms Yufang Wang, the General Manger of OCT Kunming Wind Valley Golf Club.
For those who have not yet committed, the China Tour Committee has decided to extend the application submission deadline of the First International Qualifying Tournament to Beijing Time 5pm, on May 6th, 2017. The official schedule of the tournament week provides one practice day on May 8th and followed by four days stroke play competition. The Second International Qualifying Tournament will be staged at the same venue on from May 15th to 19th.
Each qualifying tournament offers 15 full exemption cards and membership for China Tour 2017 Season which consists of minimum 12 official tournaments with each offering USD 200,000 prize money. The upgraded China Tour pathway allows leaders of 2017 China Tour Order of Merit to access the European Tour and the Asian Tour tournaments.
Since its inaugural season in 2014, The China Tour has attracted more than 800 international players from nearly 35 countries and territories including USA, Australia, Japan, Korea, Thailand, France and Italy, etc. Top graduates of the China Tour have now become regular contenders and winners of Tours in Europe and USA.
For example, Jeunghun WANG from Korea, the very first winner of the China Tour in 2014, just won the European Tour "Rookie of The Year" award last year, Shih Chang CHAN from Chinese Taipei, winner of China Tour - Eternal Courtyard Open in 2015, is one of the top players on Asian Tour Order of Merit, and Aussie Bryden Macpherson and Josh Geary, has secured their cards at Web.com Tour. The China Tour will keep building a better and stronger pathway to enhance the value of its membership for more motivated and inspired players globally in the years to come.
The Wind Valley Club features two outstanding golf courses, designed by 18-time Major Champion Jack Nicklaus, and his son, Jack Nicklaus II. This is the first combination of golf courses in China for the famous father and son team. Both courses feature magnificent long views of Yangzonghai Lake, and are very grand in scale. Many holes are built on hilltops and through valleys of colorful flowers and native landscape. The courses are challenging, with many strategically-placed bunkers and undulating greens.
In early 2017, the China Tour has announced its strategic cooperation with the European Tour and the Asian Tour. In detail, the winner of 2017 China Tour Order of Merit will earn an exemption card under the European Tour Membership Category 16, other top graduates will gain direct access to second stage of the European Tour Qualifying Tournament as well as the final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying Tournament.
